HYGUEE HOUSE

This residence, designed for a retired couple with a passion for travel, emphasizes security and functionality through the innovative use of shipping containers, creating a sanctuary that ensures peace of mind during their absences.

The main living space consists of two 40-foot containers accommodating the primary areas: a master bedroom, a full bathroom, and an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area. By retaining the original doors and structures of the containers, the house functions as a “safe box,” offering robust protection when the owners are away.
Adjacent to the main structure, a 20-foot container serves as a guest bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, providing privacy and comfort for visitors. The L-shaped configuration of the volumes creates a harmonious interaction between interior and exterior spaces, optimizing both functionality and aesthetics.
