JS House is set within a striking natural environment, surrounded by mountains and anchored by a large rock formation that defines the character of the site. The project embraces this element as its central feature: the house unfolds around it, allowing the rock to become a natural backdrop for the social areas and reinforcing the connection to the immediate landscape.
Local materials play a fundamental role in the architectural expression. Adobe walls reference traditional construction systems, while a mixed structural approach introduces contemporary techniques that complement the vernacular palette. This combination creates a dwelling that balances regional identity with a refined, modern architectural language.
Designed as a vacation retreat, the house offers the family a place to disconnect from the city and regain energy. Openings to the exterior are placed with intention, responding to views and natural light, ensuring privacy while maintaining a close relationship with the surrounding environment.
